Comment: the sudden memory was of Flip naming the Sunday Brunch at Flounder's the "high stress brunch"...god knows, it certainly was...those horrible 6 egg omlettes and all the champagne you could hold at 9 am on Sunday Morning...

Comment: I remember Flip quite well...I was the first cook hired by him when Flounder's was opened...Flip was always a calming influence in that kitchen, he dealt with high volume very well, was always a person you could trust completly with any sort of problem and in many ways I continue to practice the management values he displayed. Many years later when I was between positions I worked for him for a few weeks at the Sunray Oyster Shop...Wow, a sudden memory

It seems hard to believe the Flip is gone. It seems like yesterday, Tiger, you and your dad were flying in to Atlanta to get Flip. I had spent all day keeping tabs on him and now someone higher is doing that. I never really kept in touch with you and him and now it's too late for him. It makes me cry when I think of him and you when ya'll were little and coming over to NaNa's, Aunt Rachel's. God bless you for this memorial page and I know God is watching over Flip now. Love, Chuck

Been goin to SunRay for about 12 years and has always
been a favorite place to be on Pensacola Beach.

I just read the May entry about the Lion's Club. What blessed
people they are to receive Flip's eyes! He saw the world in
a way that most of us only strive for- a natural art to him.
And his eyes had a magic sparkle that had to make you smile
back. Yeah, they're truly blessed! And for the person who
may have received his heart....there are no words.

I worked with Flip at McGoos' and opened the Flounders Chowder House with him. He also was a room mate and friend. I always made I saw him every time I came home to P'cola. He did see my son the last time I was there. That was a blessing. I miss you dude!!!!!

I remember Flip getting up every morning to go to work, and
coming into the living room and bonking me on the head with
his socks. He warned me that if I was bad I would have to darn
every single one for him. I also remember getting up for school
and hearing 60's music playing in our garage. It would be Flip
still up from the night before, painting or doing his wood work.
He would then procede to tell me about life, his philosophy
on EVERYTHING, and crack little jokes. He made my day a little
better. He always will.

I got some of Flipper's computer art copied over
to video today. Lu came by to see it and told me
that she received a letter from the Lion's Club.
Flipper had donated it his eyes and now two people
have regained their site. You are still doing good
now little brother.

Tiger, you and Flipper will always have a place in my life that was special to me. You & Flipper hired me on when things were hard on me and convinced me to continue my education in High School when I was about to quit.
